Rubber World
If the world was a vase, what would you do with it?
My starting point was to give each participant a vase embodying a fundamental concept: life, time, love, humanity, Pachamama (Mother Earth). I anticipated destruction, “Smashing a fresh vase is irresistible; they won’t hold back.”
However, I’m grateful for what my accomplices revealed to me. Their interactions weren’t destructive; they were acts of profoundly personal and noble appropriation. This flipped the project. I understood the human power of destruction comes from our innate drive to ‘edit’ our surroundings, to build and create.
Maybe the problem isn’t the impact we make, but the direction of that impact, because when actions come from a good heart, there’s no fault in finding joy in the result.
